Old Country Stuffing

You’ve never had stuffing like our Old Country Stuffing with Peas & Carrots Gravy. This classic style stuffing is made with white bread, herbs, onions, butter, and eggs for a traditional hearty stuffing that is served in slices. Our homemade peas & carrots gravy is delicious served over the stuffing, turkey, and mashed potatoes. Try this recipe for Thanksgiving or Christmas and it’ll become a new family tradition!



Step 1

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Step 2

Prepare 9x13 baking dish with margarine.

Step 3

Tear apart 2 loaves of bread.

Step 4

Add 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1 Tbsp sage, eggs, parsley, celery, and 3/4 cup melted butter. Combine.

Step 5

Spread stuffing mixture into prepared baking dish.

Step 6

Cover with foil and cook for 20 minutes. Remove foil and cook for additional 40 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°.

Step 7

Prepare Gravy: Add cooked carrots, peas with liquid, and milk to medium size pot. Bring to a simmer.

Step 8

Add 1/2 stick butter, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 1/4 tsp paprika, bring to simmer.

Step 9

Stir together 2 Tbsp cornstarch mixed with 4 Tbsp milk. Add cornstarch mixture to peas and carrots mixture to thicken into a gravy. Add additional to get desired consistency.
